It's an all button in FET comp as they were used (and still are) in (ab)using the compressor with all buttons in to create a brute over the top sound. Everything is allowed making music!
iLok2 is a generic software dongel to register/store software licenses. Steven Slate uses this dongle also for it's free plugins so if you don't have one, it isn't as free as it looks :-). It is also used by many other software companies.
You can buy one on the internet for about €35:
Don't let a dongle stop you from a good tool, especially a free one... Never had an issue with iLok. At least many offer local or ilok license now. Slate stuff is ok, and with so many other choices, we aren't desperate for any one audio plugin developer like it used to be.
I just wanted to have more "order" so i bought an iLok dongle.
It was ok with software dongle but i wanted it so 😀
I see this free Slate stuff just as bonus.
