MIDI Keyboard goes silent when tweaking Reaktor Synths

Hi everyone,

I'm not too experienced with using MIDI keyboard controllers with Native Instruments Reaktor but I got my Akai MPK mini working fine with Kontakt but now that I've been playing around with Reaktor, whenever I open the interface for whichever synth I'm using, the keyboard stops responding, only when the interface window is open, meaning I can't hear what any tweaks are actually doing unless I make them and then close the window. This obviously will not do. Has anyone run into this and can anyone share a solution? It's a weird problem and Google hasn't helped.
