Making multiple songs sound like a coherent album!

Even though drum and bass are recorded and the same time, and "main" rhythm guitars are also recorded to sound the samen, I have experienced that when it comes to completing the album, the songs sound very different. Even though main parts such as lead vox, drums, bass and rhythm guitars a recorded and mixed somewhat the same, when I am done mixing 10 songs, some always stand out, and sound different that the rest. Hopes the description makes sense...
