      Hey everyone. I'm wondering if I should add dither to a track I'm mastering. My plan is to upload it on distrokid. I can upload it as a wav file, but some of the streaming service probably stream them as mp3's. I'm pretty new to this so any clarification would be super helpful.

        Hi,

        in general dithering is used when bouncing/exporting in a file format or sample rate that is different from the project.  So of your project is at 96k and you are bouncing to 44.1k to submit/release dithering should be enabled. It is a super techy concept and there is lots on YouTube about the topic.   Hope this helps.
