Another tip I stumbled on this week is How to copy automation information from one track to another.

      In the source track
      1. Hover over an automation node and right click
      2. Select " Select all Points" from the list
      3. Hover over an automation node and right click
      4. Select "Copy Points" from the list
      Go to the target track
      1. Arm the appropriate automation in the target track - (If you don't have the the same item automated in both target and source this won't work)
      2. Make sure if you are pasting the entire automation that the cue marker is back at 0:00:000. Otherwise the automation will paste in from where the cue marker is and will of set to this point. (something you might want if you only copied a small area of automation)
      3. Hit "ctrl V" to paste. For some reason the paste option is not in the context specific drop down list when you right click so you must use the keyboard short cut.
