Well for me I'd say my biggest struggle is understanding how and when to apply EQ properly. I watch you EQ vocals, drums, guitars, ...etc, but I don't always understand why or necessarily hear what you are hearing. I get some things, like making room for Bass vs Kick and getting rid of sub-low end rumble. It would be great to understand the thought process better when you are tweaking EQ knobs for a vocal or instrument. What are you hearing specifically when you say something is honkey, muddy, brittle, or giving something air? Are there typical frequency ranges to examine for common EQ problems on different instruments? What are some good methods of training your ear so you know where to go to when addressing EQ? Thanks!
