I've watched a bunch of videos on MS recording, specifically for acoustic guitar. I'm pretty sure the execution is correct. Mid mic Cardiod on axis. Side mic figure 8 90 degrees off axis. Copy side mic to new track, flip polarity - group side mics panned left / right -shazam. Stereo image. What I find strange is that when I blend the side mic image in with the mid the signal on my main bus reads as though the right side is considerably louder. It doesn't necessarily SOUND louder...but it looks that way. Very strange indeed. I don't know....maybe this is normal?

Maybe it's just because of your mic positioning. What happens if you move the mics back a bit. I think a regular close positioning aiming at 12 fret could get you the result you are describing.
