I've got a Manley Reference Cardioid and so far have used it on 2 very different female singers, 1 rapper- straight hip hop with no "drakeisms", and a few male singers. All, yes every, one of these different people have sounded really great, they've all been happy with the results. I'd have to say if you have the money, go for that. I would say though, I didn't have a bunch of mics side by side to compare. Definitely worth investigating, beautiful clean- "in your face" sound. I also have been using this as my mono overhead for drums, it sounds like you're in the room, amazing.
