Jason Davenport
ParticipantHello PLAPA!
My name is Jason Davenport(Saltbox Studios), and I am based out of East Texas. This is my humble spare bedroom studio. I use this space for tracking, mixing, and whatever else I can get into! Acoustic panels I built myself using Bobby Owsinski's designs as inspiration. Added a cloud over my listening station since these photos were posted. Using Bookcase as a diffuser directly behind listening station. Also use the living room, staircase, and landing for additional tracking space. My DAW of choice is Sonar Platinum(now defunct). I have been recording music since the mid-90's starting with a $20 version of Cakewalk, and progressing over the years to Sonar Platinum, but always have used some form of Cakewalk. I work mostly in rock, but occasionally branch out into jazz, pop, country, and contemporary christian music. Played in several bands over the years, but prefer the studio more these days. I mostly use Waves Plugins, have the gold bundle, plus most of the Abbey Road Collection. Also have Vocal Rider, Bass Rider, Schepps Omni Channel, and of course Sonar's built in plugins! Currently looking at some Focal Shape Twin 50's, Universal Audio 610 Preamp, and Rupert Neve Designs 5211 2ch Preamp.Gear:
