That's fantastic Arthur! I'm going to give them a listen later today.

Nice job Arthur! Seps would be great for when it comes to mixing time. Of course the tracks to make it to the final arrangement will be decided by Anders as he is the author of the tune which will happen Monday next week!

Just as a side note to all involved Arthur's tracks are out of sync but not his fault. He actually used the sync tones that I uploaded so of course this has put his tracks out of sync. I think that in all future productions any tracks uploaded without sync tones will not be allowed as we all need to be doing the same thing. Teething problems but nothing that can't be sorted out.

          Cheers guys,

          Cris

I was just wondering. If everyone's consolidating their separate tracks wouldn't that remove the need for sync tones?

Hi Anders, yes I think you are right but I think it might be best to use the sync tones just as experience has shown me that with different computers with different clocking systems it can sometimes lead to syncing problems. This way just eradicates any potential problems. With my band we found that at first we uploaded seps but when we found out there were some syncing problems we used this technique and it vanished. Just my thoughts.

              Cheers mate,

              Cris

                Hi!

@DRUMS - thank you for feedback ! So i'll go forward and improve the tracks. Just tell me which drum kit is needed.
There will be a lot of single tracks ! 🙂

                @Sync Tone
This is not bad idea at all, as long everybody use it 😉
Maybe it could be better to have sync tone running with proper BPM, so there were a chance to start at round measure giving from DAW.
The first thing i ever set is proper BPM of the song. While drums programming i also let the first two or four patterns "empty"
and set some cross sticks or hihats hits as kind countdown. You know, that kind famous "one, two, one-chew-free-far".

At least it could be difficult to sync your DAW just after the sync tone for running properly with beat pattern.

So let me know if the sync tone is needed or not. Or maybe booth ?!

                Cheers

                Arthur

I think we'll let Cris as project manager decide if we should use the sync tone. I haven't used one since the cassette portastudio days of the '80s, when syncing the 4-track with outboard midi gear. But if it's useful I'm all for it.

Hi guys, I think the sync tone is probably the way forward just so everyone feels comfortable. It is just as Arthur has said a basic count in but it gets you ready and alert for what is to come. Some tracks may not start for a while but some may happen form bar 1 and this is the only reason I think it would be useful to get everyone ready. The sync tone is also printed so when uploaded all track sync up if consolidated properly from begining to end.
I agree with Arthur that whoever is the author of the production should also upload a sync tone with the correct bpm. This way everyone can follow with ease.

The sync tone should be placed at the beginning of every track for those not used to using them.

                    Cheers guys,

                    Cris

                      Hi guys,
just a reminder that tomorrow is the final day of the production time! So any entries after that will not be allowed sadly. After this Anders will pick the tracks that he wants in the final arrangement and and I will put up a rough mix and then I will upload all the tracks for anyone to mix. They will have 1 week to get the mixes back and see what all the great engineers on this platform can come up with!

                      Cheers guys,

                      Cris

Which one of the drum kits should i use for final version?

                          Hey guys,

Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to record a decent take for the female vocal. But I think C did a wonderful job, and I'm looking forward to hearing the final arrangement.

Oh dear - poor PLAPPers - having to listen to that over and over whilst mixing - I feel a post ban coming on 😉

                            Cheers
