Here's the first motif or platform for the PLAP Production Song 1. If you like to know what this is all about read this post from Cris Sabater who will be project manager.

      https://www.producelikeapro.com/forums/topic/plap-production-by-members-to-be-mixed/

So, here's how it works. I've made a very basic recording and structure for a song. It's in Bb, 128bpm. I'll provide a basic mix with acoustic guitar, bass and a simple drum pattern. I'll also provide the file with the guitar part only, since that's the real basis of the song. You get two weeks, officially starting Monday 15th February, to record parts to fit the basic track: drums, bass, vocals, guitars, piano, synths, woodwinds, brass, sound effects, banjo, didgeridoo, sitar, Ney flute etc. anything goes. Anyone can contribute! Make a separate track of what you recorded and put a link to it in this thread.

At the end of the two weeks Cris will make a rough mix and we'll provide you all with a session to mix. We use the hubiC server for storage as it gives you 25GB of space for free.

        Hi Chaps

been a bit short of time with kids birthday parties etc so have just done some atmospheric bleeps for texture and a simple drum track on EZ drummer so there is a bit of variation.

When / if I get a chance I'll see if I can rip out some half arsed pentatonic guitar shred like normal !!;-)

        Cheers

            Hey guys,

I've started on a possible melody and lyrics. I had to slow it down though, so it could be sung pleasantly. I'm not completely committed yet, but I wanted to let y'all know I'm enjoying the creative process anyways. Thanks!

Hi Lara, welcome on board! no worries and remember you have two weeks to get the take right so there is no rush to get it through.

Hi Anders, it is great to see people getting involved with our online band/production idea. I will be chipping in with something soon and I am looking forward to all the other talented people who get involved.

                    Hey guys,

I have a song, but I was wondering whether anyone had a singer for it. Between work and my dog having special needs at the moment, I don't have the time to get my voice right. I can post a rough of the song with lyrics, but I'd much rather have someone else sing it, as it is a bit of a challenging song.

                    Thanks,

                    Lara

                      Hi Lara

nor sure if I will have time but If I do I will give it a go - I have been known to carry a tune - looks like I may have a couple of hours on Saturday 20th if you can post it in drop box or whatever before then with a lyric sheet that would be great.

                      I like a challenge !

Hope your dog gets better soon !

                        Hey C!

Thats super awesome and you are more than welcome to do so. Though I warn you that it was originally intended as a female singer, as its kind of an ode to a sister. Men have sisters too, of course.

I'm going to post the rough + lyrics, and you can listen and decide for yourself if it resonates with you. Thanks so much for the offer!

This is my first time drop boxing, so I hope I did it right.

                          Lyrics

When we were young we would go down to the river and we'd wash our feet,
And we'd bow to the ripples that moved underneath,
And we breathed to the rhythm of a summer's eve.

You were so wild in your step,
That you danced to the song of a lover's lament,
To the tune of the grass being combed by the wind,
As you sat by the river letting go of your skin.
                          Letting go of your skin.

We lay on our backs and we looked to the sky,
And we can't quite explain why the clouds fly so high,
And they never stay the same though we trap them in our mind,
                          Is the wind to blame?
                          Is the wind to blame?

                          Is the wind to blame?

We we were young we would stare
At the fire as it warmed up the tips of our hair,
To our toes that were cozed up to the flicker and the flare
And our eyes mesmerized by the light and not a care.

You were so bold in your stance
That you looked to the West, and your never looking back
And your wound is so old, that your never going to crack
                          Is the wind to blame?
                          Is the wind to blame?

                          Is the wind to blame?

When we were young we would hold sheets to the shoreline and we'd catch the breeze
And we let it pull us wayward 'till we're on our knees
And we laughed at the forces that were underneath

You are such a beauty when your free
And I miss being shaded by the branches of your tree
And I miss being guided by you winged company
But our hearts must mature otherwise they blow like leaves.

                          Is the wind to blame?

I once was a child of yours but then I got lost in your home
I once was your kind of form but then I lost track of the morning

Wow !! I'm not going to ask but that sounds personal. It's beautiful.

Leave it with me - do you mind if I have to edit (gently) just to get it to flow for me singing?

                            Cheers

                            C
