ParticipantHello Everyone, this is my take on this awesome song. I always attempt to capture the emotion of Steve's performance, while balancing the band around the vocal. Comments and suggestions are most welcome. Cheers !

ModeratorHey, Earl. Good mix! Lots of stuff that I like about this mix. Everything is pretty well balanced. The bass is tucked in where it needs to be. The vocals are back about where they need to be. The guitars are spread out. I like the big width of the vocals in the chorus. Speaking of vocals, I wonder if you have played around with that double track vocal (or double plugin or ???) that is providing that thicker vocal sound. It's consistent throughout the track, which is really good. I wonder if Steve's vocal would shine a little bit more if there was a little bit less of that. I'd have to hear it to know, so will trust the way that you hear it. Oh, and I really like the way your pushed the lead guitar off to the right in the bridge/solo, leaving room for the vocal to weave in and out during that bridge. A lot of folks are reluctant to do that, but I think it makes the mix stronger. Oh, and one other thing that I was wondering. How's the kick in the recording. Is it possible to make that kick a little tougher? By that I mean, not louder, but having more presence and attack, maybe more click? I don't know this song, but it felt like the kick could have been tougher. Punchier. Like an API compressor will often make a sound jump. Just a thought. Sounding good! Nicely done!

ParticipantHello Lem and thanks for taking time to listen ! The vocal is doubled with the provided tracks, I had to align them in places using a lot of splits and nudging. I love the intensity of the vocal and wanted to give the mix a live feel. The kick was, for me, very difficult to get a handle on. I really over EQ'ed to the point of what you hear in the mix. Trying to cut out the snare. Will definitely revisit that, bleed is my friend 🙂 Thanks for giving me a clear picture and encouragement.
Cheers !

ParticipantHello Again, I went back and applied some fixes to the mix. I toned up the kick to make it thicker and replaced some plugins to for better signal processing. I hope there is an improvement. Thanks again for the feedback ! Version 2 :
