ParticipantHi.
I'm thinking of upgrading my Focusrite Claret 8PreX with a Antelope Goliath HD Gen3 (don't need the HD function as I am on PT vanilla).
My system is a HP Z8 (dual xenon, 128GB ram) with HP Tb3 card and WIndows 10.
Anyone using the Goliath Hd3 Gen3 on Windows and TB connection?
Is it stable or any other information to be aware of?
Any experience info would be great.I don't have any chance to try one out.

ParticipantHello Ragnar.
This might not be super helpful, I don't have experience with that particular interface. But I have had the opportunity to work a bit with a friend that runs an Antelope Studio Synergy interface using TB3 under win10 and it ran smooth without problems and he seemed very happy with it.

ParticipantHey Ragnar,
Hope you're well,
I've never had any stability issues with any of my Antelope gear running to Windows via thunderbolt.
My gen2 Orion32 HD has no issues being on either my main windows 8 PC or my windows ten traveling laptop with TB or USB - haven't tried a gen3 yet, but I cant imagine they've screwed up between model versions.
Obvs I don't know your room, rig, i/o needs or outboard situation, but as you say you're upgrading from a Focusrite Claret 8,id ask myself if an Antelope Orion would be more appropriate for you right now. It'd certainly save you some pennies over the Goliath.
Hope I've been helpful, or at least easy to ignore.

ParticipantHi.
Thanks Magnus and Dave.... I belive the software/drivers are pritty much the same.
Dave: My setup is:
Focusrite Carett 8PreX and two Octro Pre MKII dynamic (24 inputs), but I would like to have more (32 inputs) of both Pre-amp and line ins. I track drums, guitars, bass, vocals.... etc. Right now I'm just short of some line inputs to be more efficient. Thanks both 🙂

ParticipantHey Magnus,
I'm sure you already know, but for the benifit of others on the thread, it's worth pointing out that the Orion & Goliath series don't have their own preamps/line ins, it's all Db25 connectivity.
You'd need an additional 8 channels of pres or line ins as well as the interface.
Antelope do make a 32 channel preamp unit with combi xlr/jack inputs.

Ive heard good things about the MP32, but haven't used one myself. Idk if you wanna sell all your current units for it though.
Personally I wouldn't want 32 identical channels - I like some sonic variety in the preamp palette. However, if you're a mic/preamp modeling software user, it might work out amazingly! The FPGA fx loaded into Antelopes interfaces are top-notch too.
If you're a 500 series user, you might wanna look at the Cranborne 500R8 & see if that fits your workflow, the ADAT expansion options are real versatile & should easily integrate with your current gear, giving you the extra 8 channels you're after.

Take it easy now.

ParticipantHi Dave.
I belive the Goliath has 16 mic pres (XLR/Jack combo) and 16 line-ins via DB25.
THe Orion "Only" have DB25s.Regards
