ParticipantSo..... I've recently loaded some of my band's old recordings into Pro Tools and started prepping them for 're-mixing'; and, having got this one all ready to go, I thought you lot might like another set of multi-tracks to muck about with - specifically a real 'home recording' jobbie.
******
NB
For some inexplicable (and infuriating!) reason, I cannot access my Google Drive in order to upload the files. So I have attached my static mix of the song here (so you can hear what it's like); and, if anyone wants to get the tracks, give me a shout on the Academy Facebook Page (I have posted in there also) or PM me on Facebook and I will send you the files via WeTransfer.
******Some background: -
This is a blues-rock number, written in 1991 (!), called 'Rolling Home'. The bpm is 145. The WAV files are 24 and 44.1. The original recordings were done on a Yamaha AW4416. (Well, when it was FIRST recorded a Fostex X30 4-track cassette recorded was used!!!) My original drums were corrupted at some point, so I replicated them in Pro Tools with SSD4. The bass is a Fender Jazz, DI'd straight into the AW4416. The main rhythm guitar and the lead guitar were recorded in a dining room, with a 57 and the guitarist's Sennheiser. (The guitar rig is a Soldano amp into a Marshall cab which has one 'Vintage' speaker and one 'Classic' speaker. Both mics were right against the grill, flush with the cones.) The vocals and percussion were recorded in a bedroom. The second guitar is an addition since the song was loaded into Pro Tools; it was recorded on Logic (by the other guitarist), through an amp sim. The organ and Wurli are also additions. The organ is the real deal (although I had to do some editing to it to make it work in every part of the song), recorded remotely in Logic; the Wurli is a VI.
I am more than happy for any of you to muck about with this and, if you wish, use it in your own portfolios. All I ask is that [1] you credit both me (Keiron Metcalfe) and the band (Touch of Blue) and [2] I be allowed to share your mixes if I so desire. Other than that, crack on and fill yer boots.

ParticipantMate, have you joined the PLAP Academy Facebook Group?... I couldn't find you in there. Once you're in there, find my post (about this song - it'll be somewhere near the top) and then PM from there and let me have your e-mail address so I can share the link to the file with you.
