ParticipantHere's my contribution to the current hofa competition. Would like to share some votes with fellow plapaers.
Mix made in a hurry, good exercise for me to not work on a mix for way too long.

ParticipantOk, voted for yours. Didn't had the chance to discuss this mix here as I had some unwanted time off of the Academy. In a very stupid move I failed to submit it. Some feedback would ease my pain.

ModeratorOh i know that pain Pedro ... submitted round 1 mix in round 2 ... i guess i'll do it never again 🙂
Heard that song first time.
It could need some "sparkle", some mastering clearance and loudness.
I find the choir a bit too loud in places when it appears with main vocal.
It is difficult to understand the lyrics from main vocal.
I really like the part with choir only singing.
Good work Pedro, however i don't really like the song as "song" 😉January 25, 2018 at 1:48 pm #36901Arthur Labus
ModeratorSounds good Magnus ! Voted !

ParticipantIt was difficult to make aesthetic choices with this kind of pastiche and I think I would never be pleased anyway. About the understanding of the lyrics, no wonder, I can´t understand a single word too. It's really hard when you don't know the language as you don't know the balances, the weight of consonants. It sure needed some more work particularly automation. Thanks for your feedback!

ParticipantPedro, Really like those long reverb tails. Like that you added some pumping to the bassline. Something (shaker) makes your snare poke to the right and it´s a bit soft isn´t it? Vocals is a bit loud... even to me. Very nice little touches of creativity here and there.
Lyrics... can be found in the zip file.. translated to english.
Arthur, did you post a mix? Link?

ModeratorNo Magnus, i didn't. Simply had no time to get close with this one and probably would skip it due i don't dig the song at all.
But it did one for "Mix Challenge", howevery didn't made the cut for round 2.
Was really "classic" style and much more difficult to mix as it seems 😉 -
