Hey Parrish,

What you are hearing with the console shaper is analog distortion, not digital clipping, so whether to be concerned depends on the effect you are going for. If you're going for a really clean sound, especially in certain styles (bluegrass, jazz, classical, etc.) then you might want to adjust the levels. But if it's pop/rock etc. then it might be what you want. Using console shaper will make you re-think how you gain-stage in Studio One, so I would put it on first, then set levels. Then you can have more control over how hard you want to drive each channel.
