Hey Adam,

I was going to start a new topic titled "DIY Mastering" but saw one here already, so I'll just add my question here:

From what I've heard Ian Shepherd say, the main tools in mastering are EQ, Compressor and Limiter. How drastic of a difference does it make which particular tools one uses (plugins)? For example, how would Waves L2 compare with Pro Tools' Maxim? My guess is that L2 can probably achieve louder volume based on unique non-linear algorithms, am I correct?
